Vascular Surgery
Introduction
The Division of Vascular Surgery has been a dedicated practice at Tufts Medical Center since 1966. It sees more than 4,500 patients each year.
The division specializes in:
- Management of arterial disease of the aorta, carotid, mesenteric, renal
and lower- extremity arteries
- Reoperative vascular surgery and the management
of vascular surgery complications
- Diagnosis and treatment of chronic venous
disease
Special Services and facilities offered by the division include:
- ICAVL-certified Vascular Noninvasive Imaging Lab
- Strong Interventional
Radiology group
- Strong relationships with cardiology, neurology and nephrology
and other medical subspecialty groups
- Specialized techniques such as retroperitoneal
and endovascular approach to complex aortic aneurysms
The Division of Vascular Surgery also has enjoyed significant research and clinical successes including
recent breakthroughs in treatment of asymptomatic carotid disease, and in the
effect of estrogen on vascular pathology.
