General Surgery
Introduction
The Division of General Surgery encompasses a range
of service areas highlighted by two leading multidisciplinary
centers units The Breast
Health Center and the Pancreatico-Biliary
Diseases
Center.
The Division of General Surgery specializes in:
- All aspects of routine general surgery
including surgery for hernias, gall bladder disease,
colorectal cancer, intestinal obstruction, and
inflammatory diseases of the stomach, small intestine,
and colon
- Open surgery for disorders of the thyroid,
parathyroid, and adrenal glands
- Minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgery
for gastroesophageal reflux disease, hematologic
disorders, and endocrine disease involving the
parathyroid and adrenal glands
- Surgical management of benign and malignant
diseases of the pancreas including acute pancreatitis,
chronic pancreatitis, and pancreatic cancer
- Surgical management of other malignancies
including soft tissue sarcomas and malignant
melanomas
- Management of benign and malignant diseases of
the breast
We are also affiliated with Gastrointestinal Surgery,
Surgical Oncology, Breast Health Center, Minimally Invasive Surgery,
Endocrine Surgery, and Pancreatic and Biliary Surgery
